Bukeka Bosede Blakemore
My Story
Deeply committed to women empowerment, cultural awareness, and the well-being of humanity,
Bukeka work reflects a lifelong dedication to restoring dignity where systems have diminished it, and to reminding people of the value they already carry.
Bukeka Bosede Blakemore is an international recording artist, author, entrepreneur, and cultural leader whose work is deeply centered on self-worth, human dignity, and conscious empowerment. With over 30 years spanning the entertainment industry, DEI initiatives, and event production,
Bukeka offers a rare insight into how external systems— especially those defined by constant evaluation and visibility— shape identity and value.
Bukeka is also the Co-Founder of FAV Unite LLC, which operates the multimedia platform FAVunite, dedicated to authentic Black storytelling and challenging traditional media gatekeeping. She is also the founder of BukekaStyle, a Certified Self-Mastery Coach, the 2026 Enterprising Woman

Through her music, writing, coaching, and advocacy— including work with the UNESCO Creative Cities of Music Network—Bukeka reminds individuals and organizations that worth is not earned through performance, but recognized and lived.

AfroKC LEGACY AWARDS:
The AfroKC Legacy Awards honor and celebrate individuals and organizations within the Kansas City community who make a meaningful difference, particularly in promoting and preserving African, African American and Afro-diasporic culture. These awards shine a light on the often-unrecognized efforts of community leaders, artists, educators, and advocates whose work uplifts cultural identity, fosters unity, and drives positive change. By acknowledging these contributions, the AfroKC Legacy Awards not only validate the importance of cultural heritage and grassroots impact but also inspire future generations to continue building strong, vibrant, and inclusive communities.
